In The Window Placement - Placement Evaluation and Covid Secure Placement Risk Assessment

Having had a delay with the exhibition, I wanted to get started on my placement evaluation. I planned to evaluate up until the point I had gotten to then leave enough word count to discuss the exhibition, feedback and write a conclusion about the whole experience. I made bullet points for each section: the introduction, a section detailing intentions, aims and goals, a section for the records and written documentation,  a section for evaluation and analysis and a conclusion. I typed up my experience so far using the bullet points to make sure nothing was missed before sending this first rough draft to lecturer Anna Francis for feedback. I had a tutorial with Anna to discuss the evaluation so far as well as receiving written feedback on the document. I had a few simple things to change, for example I had used the word "casting" instead of "call" in a few places; casting is used in the performance industry but not typically in the arts. I had also stuck very rigidly to the guideline given to us by writing my report and then a separate paragraph for evaluation. Anna suggested it would be better to integrate the two and evaluate each individual experience on the placement as I talked about it, when writing I had felt like I was being very repetitive so this will fix that. It was great to know what to change and where to go with it next, I will work on another draft and then wait to finish it upon completing the exhibition at AirSpace Gallery and my placement.

Whilst I was in the tutorial with Anna we also talked about the placement in general, how I was getting on and how the route out of lockdown will positively impact moving forward with our placements. I mentioned having discussed a provisional installation and exhibition date with Glen at AirSpace whilst we awaited the university's response about going ahead and Anna told me that she had some news regarding that. We return to campus on the 12th of March which should mean that we are able to complete our placements soon. However, in order to work at a physical placement at a location off campus, we had to complete a Covid-secure risk assessment which had to be okayed by university staff before being sent to the gallery. She said that we would be covering the risk assessment process in next week's lecture on Microsoft Teams. This was exciting and risk assessments were something I was already familiar with from my job, I told her that we were hoping to install on the 13th of March which might be a little too soon to complete the risk assessment process and correspondence. Fortunately, Anna was kind enough to upload the risk assessment template to Teams early so I could try and get it completed. The same night I completed the assessment and sent to Anna to be forwarded to the university. Hopefully we get confirmation that all is in order soon so that the exhibition can go ahead!
