Professional Practice and Placement Module - Week Four Mk II

The placement at AirSpace Gallery is what I have been most interested in so far. Having heard from Glen Stoker from AirSpace as a guest speaker in one of our Teams meetings I knew that the deadline to apply was much sooner than our module deadline in December  as work would start in November, so I contacted him toward the end of last week to find out what I needed to send. We had only just covered putting together proposal packs and creating a CV, cover letter and mini folio on the Wednesday. Glen asked simply that I send an Expression of Interest before the start of this week, this was a relief as the proposal pack, CV and mini folio I have started to compile is incomplete and a letter was something I could hopefully type up relatively quickly.

The only issue was, I had never written an Expression of Interest before and was not entirely sure what one would entail. After researching online and finding a framework to follow it was much easier than I had envisioned, I only had to fill one side of A4 with some basic information about myself, my interest in the placement and my relevant skills. It still took a little while to type up as I have never been particularly good at selling myself or talking highly of my work and experience. I have had to do it many times in my career but it makes me cringe every time and I always feel anxious about coming across well when talking about myself. Now all I have to do is control my nerves whilst I await a reply.
